Earth Hour 2010

On Saturday, March 27 at 8.30pm, people around the world will turn off their lights for one hour, WWF’s Earth Hour, to show their support for the planet.

Unite with schools across the UK, and the world, to make a bold statement about the need to care about the people, places and wildlife of this planet – now and for future generations – by signing up your school for WWF’s Earth Hour. As an Eco-School, it will provide you with a great opportunity to raise the profile of your eco work whilst providing a fun and engaging activity for your pupils.

Climate change is the most serious problem we face – changing weather patterns, warming seas and melting ice are devastating for both people and wildlife. Urgent global action is needed if we are to avoid the worst impacts of climate change and safeguard our world. Earth Hour is your chance to lend your voice.

Earth Hour is supported by Eco-Schools across the world and there is a range of FREE resources for teachers, including:

•    A toolkit for schools
•    A climate change information pack
•    Ideas to help you promote your activities to your local press.

Get your school involved and register today on the Earth Hour website.
